Efficient numerical schemes for simulations in porous and fractured media are fundamental tools for the correct description of phenomena arising in a large variety of applications, such as subsurface resource exploitation, oil and gas extraction, biological tissue behaviour, water supply, energy storage, underground pollutant dispersion and many others. A key issue is to effectively handle complex geometries coupled with complex physical phenomena.

This minisymposium is focused on recent advances in coupling different models and tackling complex geometries, to construct effective numerical tools for the accurate description of the phenomena under investigation.
